How Ourpoint works
Ourpoint Live: an evening of six five-minute chats with verified people, and a yes that only shows if it's mutual.
Signing in
Use an email link, or Google or Apple where offered. The same email always means the same account.
The sign-up steps
Your basics, the interview, photos, your phone, how you live, your card, then ID verification.
The interview
40 questions in four parts, about 30 minutes. Skip anything, type or speak, and take breaks whenever you like.
Booking a seat
Booking is free. Each evening has an age band and the same number of seats for women and men.
What happens in the evening
Six five-minute chats, one person at a time, each opening with a question for the two of you.
Yes or no, and a mutual yes
After each chat you privately say yes or no. Only a mutual yes is shown, at the end of the evening.
Staying comfortable in a chat
End any chat, or report someone, at any time. Contact details can't be sent.
Opening a conversation
After a mutual yes, either of you can open it. Accepting is free.
What a conversation costs
Opening one uses one conversation from your balance. Everything before it is free.
If they accept but don't reply
They get a reminder after a day. After 3 days with no message, it closes and you get it back.
When conversations close on their own
A conversation closes if only one of you has been writing for 5 days, or if it's been quiet for 7.
When you get a conversation back
If they decline, don't answer, or accept but never write, it goes back to your balance.
Swapping numbers
Tap "Swap numbers" in the chat. Numbers appear only when you've both shared.
Ending, reporting and blocking
End a conversation any time. Report or block if something isn't right.
Conversation packs
Buy 3, 10 or 25 conversations at once. They never expire.
Buying a single conversation
Buy just one, right from the chat, and it opens as soon as you've paid.
If a payment fails or takes a while
A failed payment isn't charged. A slow one shows up on its own within a few minutes.
Refunds
Haven't opened a conversation since you bought? Ask for a full refund within 14 days.
Your card
Three of your interview answers, seen in a Live chat. Edit it any time.
Editing your basics
Change your name, who you'd like to meet, age range, city and languages from the You page.
Changing your interview answers
Edit answers while you're still in the interview. After that, write to us.
Your photos
Add 2 to 6 photos. They're seen only after a mutual yes.
How you live, and your non-negotiables
Home state, religion, food, smoking, drinking and marital history, plus up to three things you won't compromise on.
How verification works
A selfie and a government ID. An automated pre-check runs first, then a person decides.
Contact details before a mutual yes
Numbers, emails and handles wait until you've both said yes.
Staying safe
Report anything that feels wrong. A person reads every report.
Downloading your data
Get a copy of everything we hold about you, in one file.
Deleting your account
Delete everything, straight away, from the Manage your data page.
