Effective 21 October 2026 · version 2026-10-21
Everyone you meet on Ourpoint has matched a live selfie to a government ID, checked by a person. That's a strong start, but it isn't a background check. Here's how to stay safe, and what we do.
Until you've both said yes and opened a conversation, your card, your answers, your photos and your questions can't include a phone number, email, social media handle, link or any other way to reach you outside Ourpoint. We check for them, and the Ourpoint assistant (an AI) takes a second look at answers. An answer it flags is held until a person has checked it, and repeated attempts are reviewed and can lead to removal. This keeps everyone's first week on a platform where reports and blocks work.
Nobody on Ourpoint ever needs you to send money, gifts, gift cards, crypto or investment deposits, for any reason: a medical emergency, a customs fee, a visa, a business opportunity. If anyone asks, report the conversation. Our assistant also watches the first 48 hours of every conversation for money requests and warns you if it sees one.
Use “Report or block” in any conversation. Reporting pauses the conversation straight away, and a person on our team reads it. We act on reports of intimate or morphed images within 24 hours and acknowledge other complaints within 24 hours. Blocking ends the conversation and means you'll never be introduced again.
Then tell us at grievance@ourpoint.in so we can protect other members. We cooperate with police investigations.
