Where Ourpoint is

Ourpoint opens city by city through Live evenings, each with the same number of seats for women and men. Where no date is announced yet, join now so you're verified when the first evening is.

How language works on Ourpoint

When you sign up, you pick every language you speak, up to six. It's a multi-select, so Malayalam and English, or Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, are all fine.

If language truly matters, you can make "Speaks my language" one of your up to three non-negotiables, and then you'll only be paired at an evening with people who speak at least one of the languages you pick.

For now, the interview and the questions that open each chat are written in English. Once you've both said yes, you can talk in whatever language suits the two of you.

If you're searching by community

Ourpoint doesn't ask for caste or sub-community, and there is no filter for it. If your family's background or traditions matter to you, say what you'd like to share in your own words in your interview. Faith, language and home state are handled differently: you can ask for someone of your religion, someone who speaks your language, or someone from your state as one of up to three non-negotiables.

How an evening works

  1. Book a seat

Free. Each evening has an age band and an even number of seats for women and men.

  2. Six chats

Five minutes each, one person at a time, live, in text. Each opens with a question for the two of you.

  3. Yes or no

Decide privately after each chat. Only a mutual yes is shown, at the end of the evening.

  4. Then

Pay only to open a conversation. Accepting is free, and you get it back if they decline or don't answer within three days.
