Matrimony apps without a subscription: what each app charges to talk to someone (2026)
Most Indian matrimony apps sell 3 to 12-month memberships. Here's what Shaadi.com, BharatMatrimony, Jeevansathi, Betterhalf and Aisle charge on the App Store today, and which let you pay only when you actually want to talk.

Disclosure: we make Ourpoint, which charges per conversation instead of by subscription. We've tried to be fair: every price below is from the apps' own App Store India listings, checked on 24 October 2026, and we say where other apps do things better.
The big matrimony sites mostly don't show prices until you sign in. Shaadi.com's plans page lists Gold, Diamond and Platinum without prices, and Jeevansathi shows “₹ ****” until you log in. Matrimony.com, which runs BharatMatrimony, told investors in 2026 that what people pay depends partly on “promotional pricing” and data-led offers. So the clearest public prices are the in-app purchases each company lists on the App Store.

Prices on the web or in the Android app can differ, and several apps show different prices to different people. Treat these as a guide, and check the app before you pay.
Why subscriptions feel expensive
A three-month plan starts a clock the day you pay. If the right person doesn't turn up in those three months, or turns up a week after it ends, you pay again. Redseer estimated in December 2025 that only 5 to 15% of monthly active users on Indian dating and matrimony apps pay at all, which tells you how many people decide it isn't worth it.
Subscriptions also reward the app for keeping you searching: the longer you browse, the more renewals. That's not a criticism of any one company, it's how the model works.
The alternative: paying only to talk
A few newer apps charge per conversation instead. On Ourpoint, everything up to a conversation is free: joining, verification, booking a seat at an Ourpoint Live evening and the evening itself, six five-minute live chats with verified people from your city. When you both say yes, opening the conversation is the one thing you pay for, from ₹199, and accepting is free. If they decline, or don't answer in three days, you get it back.
No subscription, no renewal, no paid boosts. Book a free seat, and pay only to talk to someone who said yes to you too.
Book a seatWhat the subscription apps do better
- Size. Shaadi.com, BharatMatrimony and Jeevansathi have millions of profiles across India and abroad. Ourpoint is new and opens city by city.
- Search and filters. If you want to search by community, language or horoscope, the portals offer that. Ourpoint deliberately doesn't filter by caste.
- Assisted services. BharatMatrimony and Jeevansathi offer relationship managers who search on your behalf, for a higher fee.
- Regional languages. Matrimony.com runs sites and apps in many Indian languages. Ourpoint is English-first for now.
How to choose
- If you want the biggest possible pool and like to search, a portal membership may be worth it. Buy the shortest plan first.
- If you'd rather be introduced to a few verified people and not pay until there's mutual interest, choose a pay-per-conversation app.
- Whatever you choose, check what “verified” means on that app before you trust a badge. Our guide to verifying a matrimony profile explains how.
