Disclosure: this guide is written by Ourpoint, a marriage app that competes with BharatMatrimony. We charge per conversation instead of by membership, so we have an obvious interest in how this comparison comes out. We've tried to be fair: every BharatMatrimony price below comes from its own App Store India listing, checked on 29 October 2026, and we say plainly where BharatMatrimony does things well.
If you've searched for “BharatMatrimony membership price”, you've probably found coupon sites with numbers that don't agree with each other. That's partly because BharatMatrimony, like most big matrimony portals, shows its full price list only after you sign in, and offers can differ from person to person. So we've used the one public list we can check and link to: the in-app purchases Matrimony.com lists on the App Store in India.
Treat these as a guide, not a quote. The price on the website, in the Android app, or in an offer you're sent by phone or email can be different. Check the screen in front of you before you pay.
Who runs BharatMatrimony
BharatMatrimony is the flagship brand of Matrimony.com Ltd, a Chennai company founded in 1997 by Murugavel Janakiraman and listed on the NSE and BSE. Besides BharatMatrimony it runs regional sites such as KeralaMatrimony, TamilMatrimony, TeluguMatrimony, KannadaMatrimony, BengalMatrimony and MarathiMatrimony, as well as community sites and higher-priced services like Assisted Matrimony and Elite Matrimony.
It's a large and profitable business. In April to June 2026, the company added 2.72 lakh paid subscriptions, and its matchmaking revenue for the quarter was ₹129.5 crore, according to its results as reported by Inc42. Inc42 also noted that the company runs more than 130 physical outlets, so there's an offline option for families who prefer to talk to someone in person.
BharatMatrimony plans and prices in 2026
Here is everything the BharatMatrimony app listed for sale on App Store India on 29 October 2026. We've added a rough per-month figure so the plans are easier to compare. The listing doesn't show every combination: for example, Diamond and Prime Platinum appeared only as 3-month plans.
| Plan | App Store India price (29 Oct 2026) | Per month, roughly |
|---|---|---|
| Gold, 3 months | ₹5,900 | ₹1,970 |
| Gold, 6 months | ₹11,900 | ₹1,980 |
| Diamond, 3 months | ₹7,900 | ₹2,630 |
| Prime Gold, 3 months | ₹7,900 | ₹2,630 |
| Prime Gold, 6 months | ₹14,900 | ₹2,480 |
| Platinum, 3 months | ₹9,900 | ₹3,300 |
| Platinum, 6 months | ₹14,900 | ₹2,480 |
| Prime Platinum, 3 months | ₹11,900 | ₹3,970 |
| “TUM Regular” (duration not shown) | ₹19,900 | Not shown |
| Profile Highlighter, 15 days (add-on) | ₹450 | Not a membership |
| Ourpoint, for comparison | Free to join and to book a Live evening. ₹199 for 1 conversation, ₹499 for 3, ₹1,299 for 10, ₹2,499 for 25 | No monthly cost; conversations don't expire |
A few things stand out when you lay the plans side by side.
- Six months of Gold isn't cheaper per month than three. Gold is ₹5,900 for 3 months and ₹11,900 for 6, so the longer plan works out slightly more expensive per month, not less.
- Six months of Platinum is the better deal on paper. Two 3-month Platinum plans would cost ₹19,800; the 6-month plan is ₹14,900. If you were going to buy Platinum and stay for six months, it saves ₹4,900.
- Prime adds ₹2,000 to a 3-month plan. Prime Gold (₹7,900) costs ₹2,000 more than Gold (₹5,900), and Prime Platinum (₹11,900) ₹2,000 more than Platinum (₹9,900).
- The listing doesn't explain every plan. “TUM Regular” is shown at ₹19,900 with no duration or description in the App Store list. Ask BharatMatrimony what it covers and how long it lasts before you pay that much.
If you're offered a discount by phone, email or on the website, compare it with the in-app price above. The cheaper of the two is the one to take.
What you get with a paid plan
BharatMatrimony's App Store description is fairly brief about what each tier includes. It says you can create a profile and browse matches, and lists these as premium features:
- Chat and voice calls with matches, through the app's own chat and calling.
- A featured listing, so your profile shows up more prominently.
- Complete profile information for the people you're interested in.
The listing also describes SecureConnect, which lets prospects call you without seeing your mobile number, and privacy controls over who can see your photos, contact details and profile.
The listing doesn't set out, tier by tier, how Gold, Diamond and Platinum differ. Broadly, higher tiers buy more visibility and more contact, but check the exact benefits on the payment screen, because that's the version that applies to you.
What “Prime” means
When BharatMatrimony launched Prime in November 2020, it described it as access to “100% ID-verified profiles”. To be a Prime profile, members needed a university degree or higher, a profile photo, and one of four documents to verify identity: driving licence, passport, PAN card or ration card. The 2026 app listing still describes Prime as access to “genuine profiles that are verified”.
So the extra ₹2,000 or so is mainly paying for a smaller, more checked pool, not for more features. That can be worth it if fake or half-filled profiles have been your main problem. At launch, Prime was also limited to graduates, which may or may not match what you're looking for.
Verification for everyone else
Verification on Matrimony.com sites is mostly optional and shown as a badge. In a notification published in September 2026, the Tamil Nadu government allowed Matrimony.com to offer voluntary Aadhaar authentication, with a “verified user” label on profiles. Users must consent, can't be refused service for declining, and must be offered other IDs such as a driving licence, passport or PAN card. It's a useful step, but because it's optional, a profile without a badge isn't necessarily fake, and one with a badge has only had its identity checked, not its job or marital status. Our guide to verifying a matrimony profile covers what to check yourself.
KeralaMatrimony, TamilMatrimony and the other community sites
If you're using KeralaMatrimony or TamilMatrimony instead of BharatMatrimony, the prices are the same. We checked both apps on App Store India on 29 October 2026, and both are sold by Matrimony.com Ltd with the same core list: Gold ₹5,900 for 3 months and ₹11,900 for 6 months, Prime Gold ₹7,900 for 3 months, Diamond ₹7,900, Platinum ₹9,900 for 3 months, and TUM Regular ₹19,900.
The KeralaMatrimony app also listed longer Profile Highlighter add-ons: ₹1,350 for 45 days and ₹2,700 for 90 days. TamilMatrimony listed the 45-day Highlighter at ₹1,350. We haven't checked every one of Matrimony.com's language and community apps, so if you're on a different one, look at its own listing.

Is BharatMatrimony worth it?
It depends on how you like to search, and it's fair to say BharatMatrimony does several things well.
What it does well
- Size and reach. It is one of India's biggest matrimony networks, with separate sites for many languages and regions, from Kerala and Tamil Nadu to Bengal and Punjab. If your priority is the largest possible pool in your language, that matters.
- Choice of how to search. You can search, filter and browse in detail, and switch between the main site and regional sites.
- Help if you want it. Assisted Matrimony and the company's offline outlets suit people, and parents, who want a person to help with the search.
- Privacy tools. SecureConnect and photo and contact controls are genuinely useful, especially for women who don't want to hand out their number early.
- An app people rate reasonably. The BharatMatrimony iPhone app had a 4.1 out of 5 rating from about 5,100 ratings when we checked.
Where it may not suit you
- The clock starts when you pay. A 3-month plan costs ₹5,900 whether you find someone in week two or not at all. If the right person turns up a week after it ends, you pay again.
- Most people don't pay. Redseer estimated in December 2025 that only 5 to 15% of monthly active users on Indian dating and matrimony apps upgrade to premium plans. Many people browse, try a plan once, and stop.
- Browsing takes time. A large pool means a lot of scrolling, filtering and sending interests that may go unanswered.
- Filters by community and caste are built in. BharatMatrimony runs community and caste-based sub-sites and lets you filter that way. If you're choosing a partner on your own terms, you may find these filters more of a distraction than a help, though you're free not to use them.
A simple way to decide
- Use the free account first. Build your profile and look at who you're being shown in your city before paying anything.
- If you buy, buy the shortest plan. Gold for 3 months is the cheapest way in, and the 6-month Gold plan doesn't save you money per month.
- Pay for Prime only if fake profiles are your real problem. Otherwise the extra ₹2,000 is buying a narrower pool.
- Don't pay for what you can't see described. If a plan's benefits aren't clear on the payment screen, ask before paying.
- Note when it ends. Put the end date in your calendar so you can decide calmly whether to continue, instead of under the pressure of a last-day offer.
If you're still weighing the big portals against each other, our side-by-side of BharatMatrimony vs Shaadi.com vs Jeevansathi compares prices and verification across all three.
A different way to pay
Ourpoint works differently. There's no search and no membership. Joining, being verified, booking a seat at an Ourpoint Live evening and the evening itself are all free: six five-minute live chats with verified people from your city, one at a time, with a private yes or no after each. Every member is checked by a person against a live selfie and a government ID before anyone sees them.
You only pay when you both say yes and you want to open a conversation: ₹199 for one, ₹499 for three, ₹1,299 for ten or ₹2,499 for twenty-five. Nothing renews, unused conversations don't expire, and if the other person declines or doesn't answer, you get that conversation back. For the price of one 3-month Gold plan (₹5,900), you could buy two packs of twenty-five conversations and still have change, each one with someone who has already said yes to you.
The honest trade-off: Ourpoint is new, opens city by city through Live evenings, starting in Kochi, and doesn't let you browse thousands of profiles. If a big searchable pool is what you want, BharatMatrimony offers that and we don't. More on how the different models compare is in matrimony apps without a subscription.
No membership, no renewal, no paid boosts. A free seat at a Live evening, and you pay only after a mutual yes.
