Disclosure: Ourpoint publishes this guide, and Ourpoint is one of the options below. It's new and opens first in Kochi, so we have every reason to want Malayalee readers. We've tried to make this useful even if you never use us. Prices come from each app's App Store India listing, with the date we checked next to each one. Where we couldn't find an official price, we say “check current prices” rather than guess.
Looking for a life partner from Kerala usually means juggling three things at once: a big portal, a community or church network, and relatives who know someone who knows someone. Each works for some families. This guide goes through the main options one by one, so you can pick the two or three that fit your situation instead of paying for all of them.
Why Kerala is different
A few facts shape how Malayalees search, and they're worth knowing before you choose a site.
- People marry later. An Onmanorama analysis of Sample Registration System data found the mean age at marriage for women in Kerala rose from 23.8 in 2014 to 24.5 in 2024, against a national average of about 23. Kerala, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh were the only states above 24.
- Many families are spread across countries. The Kerala Migration Survey 2023 estimated about 2.2 million emigrants from Kerala, with about 80.5% in the Gulf countries (down from 89.2% in 2018). Student emigration roughly doubled to about 2.5 lakh, and women's share of emigrants rose from 15.8% to 19.1%.
- Faith matters in the search. At the 2011 Census, Kerala was 54.7% Hindu, 26.6% Muslim and 18.4% Christian, and much of the matchmaking still runs along those lines, through portals, parishes, mosques and community groups.
- Almost everyone reads. Kerala's literacy rate was 94.0% in the 2011 Census, against 74.0% for India. Families here read profiles closely and ask a lot of questions, which is a good habit on any site.
Put together, this means many Malayalee searches involve someone in Dubai, Doha, London or Bengaluru, parents in Kerala, and a person in their mid to late twenties who wants a say. The sites below handle that mix differently. For more on the state, see our Kerala page.

App Store prices can differ from web and Android prices, and several apps show different offers to different people. Use these as a starting point and check inside the app before you pay.
KeralaMatrimony
Who it suits: Malayalee families who want the widest choice within Kerala's communities, whether they live in Kerala, the Gulf or elsewhere. KeralaMatrimony is run by Matrimony.com Ltd, the listed company behind BharatMatrimony, and says it has served Kerala brides and grooms since 2000. Its app is available in Malayalam as well as English and other Indian languages.
How matching works: you fill in a detailed profile and partner preferences, then search, filter and receive recommendations. Its App Store description names communities including Nair, Ezhava, Thiyya, Vishwakarma, Nambiar, Pulaya, Roman Catholic, Latin Catholic, Jacobite, Marthoma and Pentecost Christians, and Shafi and Mapila Muslims, so for most Kerala communities this is where you'll find the biggest pool of profiles in one place.
Verification: Matrimony.com launched a six-point verification in 2019 (mobile, government ID, education and salary documents, selfie, location and social profile), shown as trust badges on each profile. The app's release notes say its Prime plan shows only ID-verified profiles with photos.
Cheapest paid plan (App Store India, 27 Oct 2026): Gold ₹5,900 for 3 months. Other plans include Diamond and Prime Gold at ₹7,900 for 3 months and Platinum at ₹9,900 for 3 months. A Profile Highlighter is ₹450 for 15 days.
Fair downside: badges are per profile, so not everyone you see has had the same checks, and the free tier is mostly for looking. Buy the shortest plan first.
M4Marry
Who it suits: Kerala families, especially those who read Malayala Manorama and like the idea of a known name with offices they can walk into. M4Marry is run by Malayala Manorama, launched in 2008, and expanded to the other South Indian states in 2019, when it said more than a million profiles had been registered. Its site lists 30+ retail offices across South India.
How matching works: free registration and browsing, with filters for community, education, occupation and location down to the district. The site has community pages for groups such as Nair, Ezhava, Knanaya, Syro-Malabar and Muslim. Higher packages add a support executive or a relationship manager who helps shortlist and contact people.
Verification: its App Store listing promises “100% verified mobile numbers”, and the website lists verified profiles as a feature without explaining what is checked. We couldn't find a description of ID checks.
Cheapest paid plan (App Store India, 27 Oct 2026): a 14-day Prime Package at ₹3,399; the cheapest longer plan is Premium at ₹5,900 for 90 days. Kerala Premium plans are ₹13,499 for 180 days and ₹18,900 for 365 days.
Fair downside: a phone check is light verification, so do your own checks (see the safety list below) before trusting a profile.
Shaadi.com for Malayalees
Who it suits: Malayalees who are open to a partner from anywhere in India or abroad, and NRIs who want the largest pool. Shaadi.com is run by People Interactive and was founded in 1997. You can set language and community preferences, but the pool is national, so expect fewer Kerala profiles than on a Kerala-focused site.
How matching works: search, daily matches and interests. Paid members can see contact details and message freely.
Verification: an optional blue tick, which according to Shaadi.com's help pages means a selfie was matched to the profile photo.
Cheapest paid plan (App Store India, 24 Oct 2026): Gold for 3 months at ₹5,200 to ₹5,900. The website doesn't show prices without signing in.
Fair downside: the blue tick checks a face against a photo, not an ID, and it's optional.
Jeevansathi for Malayalees
Who it suits: people who want a big portal at a lower starting price and are open to a match beyond Kerala. Jeevansathi belongs to Info Edge, which also owns Naukri, and is strongest in North India. Its 2026 research on its users found strict caste preferences falling, from 91% of users in 2016 to 54% in 2025.
How matching works: search, daily matches and interests, with relationship managers on higher plans.
Verification: phone verification, selfie verification and ID badges for members who verify.
Cheapest paid plan (App Store India, 24 Oct 2026): Pro Lite ₹1,699. The listing doesn't show how long it lasts, so check in the app what it buys.
Fair downside: a smaller Malayalee pool than KeralaMatrimony or M4Marry.
Church, mosque and community services
Before the portals, most Kerala matches came through people: the parish, the mahallu, the karayogam, the family. That still matters, and some community services have moved online.
Christian: Chavara Matrimony
Who it suits: Catholic families, particularly Syro-Malabar, who want a church-linked service. Chavara Matrimony is run by priests of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) in Kochi, and the Chavara Cultural Centre in Kochi lists a matrimony centre among its facilities. In 2012, Al Jazeera reported that it began in 1996, verified profiles before registration, ran branches across Kerala, published a monthly magazine of profiles and had seen more than 10,000 weddings. Open magazine reported family meets through the year.
Cost: check current prices. The most detailed reporting we could find is from 2012, and we couldn't open its official site to confirm today's fees or process.
It's also worth asking at your own church office whether the parish or diocese keeps a marriage register or passes on proposals.
Muslim: Kerala Nikah, and the big portals
Who it suits: Kerala Muslim families who want a site only for their community. Kerala Nikah, from Nika Online Pvt Ltd, describes itself on the App Store as a matrimony app for Kerala Muslim men and women looking for partners within their tradition, and says it screens and validates registered profiles.
Cheapest paid plan (App Store India, 27 Oct 2026): a Basic Package at ₹99, with other packages from ₹499 to ₹10,000. The listing doesn't show how long each lasts, so check in the app.
KeralaMatrimony and M4Marry also have large Muslim sections (KeralaMatrimony names Shafi and Mapila among its communities), and the Kerala Migration Survey found Muslims make up the largest share of Kerala's emigrants, so the Gulf pool on the big portals is large.
Hindu: Nair, Ezhava and other communities
Community organisations such as the Nair Service Society and the SNDP Yogam are central to many families' social lives, but we couldn't find an official, current online matrimony service run by either, so we haven't listed one. For Nair, Ezhava, Thiyya, Vishwakarma, Nambiar and other Hindu communities, KeralaMatrimony and M4Marry both have dedicated community sections, and relatives and local community contacts still pass on many proposals informally.
A caution: sites that use a community's or a newspaper's name aren't always connected to it. Check who runs a site (the company name on the App Store listing is a good start) before you pay or share documents.
Marriage bureaus and brokers
Who they suit: families who want a person, often someone local, to find and bring proposals, and who value a broker who knows the families involved.
How matching works: you register with the bureau or broker, share a biodata and horoscope, and they bring you proposals. Expect a registration fee, and ask whether anything else is charged later.
Verification: it depends entirely on the person. A good broker knows the families personally. Others pass on whatever they're given.
Cost: check current prices, and get them in writing. In July 2026 a Kerala consumer commission ordered a bureau to refund a professor's ₹3,000 registration fee, plus compensation and costs, after nine years without a single proposal being pursued. His profile had no stated validity period.
Fair downside: quality varies widely and there's little public information to compare bureaus. Ask how long your registration lasts, what they check, and what happens if nothing comes through.
Ourpoint
Who it suits: people who'd rather meet a few verified people properly than browse thousands of profiles. Ourpoint is new and small, and it opens city by city through Live evenings, Kochi first. Other cities will follow. See our Kochi page.
How matching works: instead of a biodata, you answer a short written interview, then book a seat at an Ourpoint Live evening: six five-minute text chats with verified people, one at a time, each opening with a question for the two of you. No photos until it's mutual. After each chat you privately say yes or no, and only a mutual yes is revealed, at the end of the evening. There are no caste, height, income or complexion filters. You can set up to three non-negotiables, such as same religion, “speaks my language” or “from my state”, and they apply both ways. Members list every language they speak, so a Malayalee who also speaks Tamil or Hindi says so.
When: the first evening is in Kochi on Sunday 15 November 2026 at 9pm, for ages 25 to 35, with seats split evenly between women and men.
Verification: a person checks every member's ID against a live selfie before anyone sees their profile.
Cost: joining, verification, booking a seat and the evening itself are free. You pay only to open a conversation after a mutual yes: ₹199 for one, ₹499 for 3, ₹1,299 for 10 or ₹2,499 for 25. If the other person declines or doesn't answer within three days, it comes back to your balance. There's no subscription.
Fair downside: it's in one city, has far fewer people than any portal, has no search and is English-first for now. There's no community filter, by design. If you want to browse a big pool by community, or you're in the Gulf, a portal will suit you better today.
Six five-minute chats with verified people in Kochi, free to book. You pay only to talk to someone who said yes to you too.
Book a seatHow to choose, by situation

- Your family wants an office to visit or someone to help shortlist: M4Marry's assisted packages, or a bureau you've checked out.
- You're in the Gulf or abroad: KeralaMatrimony, M4Marry and Shaadi.com all have large NRI pools. Make a video call part of every early conversation.
- You want a match within your parish or community: start with your church, mosque or community office, and use a portal alongside it.

Staying safe on any site
- Read what the badge means. “Verified” can mean a phone number, a selfie matched to a photo, or an ID checked by a person.
- Check who runs the site before paying, especially if it uses a familiar name.
- Reverse-search photos with Google Lens, and video call early. Repeated excuses are a warning sign.
- Never send money, for any reason. Report it at cybercrime.gov.in or call 1930.
- Get a bureau's terms in writing: the fee, how long registration lasts and what's refundable.
Our 8-step checklist for verifying a matrimony profile goes into each of these.
Questions people ask
- Which is the best Kerala matrimony site in 2026?

KeralaMatrimony has the widest range of Kerala communities and a Malayalam app; M4Marry, run by Malayala Manorama, has offices across South India and assisted packages; Shaadi.com and Jeevansathi suit people open to a match outside Kerala. In Kochi, Ourpoint runs Live evenings of short chats with verified people, without a subscription.

- Both focus on Kerala and cost about the same for three months: on App Store India in October 2026, KeralaMatrimony Gold was ₹5,900 for 3 months and M4Marry Premium ₹5,900 for 90 days. KeralaMatrimony describes ID-based trust badges; M4Marry's listing promises verified mobile numbers and it offers walk-in offices. Many families try both, starting with the shortest plan.

- On App Store India on 27 October 2026, Gold was ₹5,900 for 3 months or ₹11,900 for 6 months, and Platinum ₹9,900 for 3 months. Web and Android prices can differ, so check in the app before paying.
